Dr. Piotr Blumczynski of School of Modern Languages at Queen's University Belfast visited School of Foreign Language Education

On the morning of May 19th, 2016, Dr. Piotr Blumczynski, of School of Modern Languages at Queen's University Belfast (QUB) paid a visit to School of Foreign Language Education (SOFLE). The guests and hostshad a friendly and constructive talk together.Presents are Dr. HEQiang, Party Secretary of SOFLE, Prof. PAN Haiying, Associate Dean of SOFLE, and teachers' representatives.

During the talk, each side made a brief introduction to each other on issues of common interests, from basic conditions and research fields to teaching philosophy and degree education. Moreover, they exchanged in-depth views and reached a preliminary consensus in the aspect of joint supervision of graduate students, faculty exchanges,teacher training, and collaborative research. Dr. HE, on behalf of the School, extended the warmest welcome to Prof. Piotr Blumczynski and look forward to the substantial cooperation between both sides. He said that as an old friend, SOFLE had a solid foundation for cooperation with QUB and was looking forward to establishing win-win cooperation with QUB by taking this talk as an opportunity as it is the benefit of teachers and students of both sides under the common efforts of the two sides.

With consistent efforts on exchanges and cooperation with famous overseas universities, SOFLE has successively launched a number of projects in recent years. As the UK's ninth oldest university, QUB is a member of the Russell Group, a self-selected association of twenty-four public research universities situated in the United Kingdom, the equivalent to which in the US is the Ivy League. Thus, Dr. Piotr Blumczynski's visit will further the cooperation between two sides as through such mutual exchanges and cooperation SOFLE will promote talent cultivation and make teachers morecompetent.
